The firm, established in 1963, has been providing four decades of experience and service. The majority of our projects each year are from previous satisfied clients with whom we have developed long-term relationships. RSA Architects' architectural design experience is in large complex projects as well as specialized function facilities. Our capabilities include Master Planning and Feasibility Studies, Site Selection and Schematic Design, and complete project programming and documents. Two principals, Lawrence C. Apgar and James S. Oliver serve as principal-in-charge for each project undertaken by the firm. One principal is the prime contact with each client and maintains a close relationship throughout the duration of the job. He supervises and oversees all aspects of the project from preliminary design development through project closeout. The guidance and close involvement with in-house Syracuse architects, designers and consultants during all phases of the project insure satisfaction of the project's objectives.

Humane Design creates high quality indoor environments, energy efficient environments. This sustainable architecture approach maximizes natural light and introduces this light deeper into the core spaces. We were an early proponent of a number of green ideas: the use of natural lighting with light shelves, the use of in-floor heating and cooling, use of renewable materials, and aggressive thermal envelopes. Life Cycle Design provides expertise to analyze the impacts from the construction through occupancy. Sustainable designs that offer operational cost savings. Making good choices, utilizing sustainable materials, systems and processes, is essential to our Economy of Resources approach.
